The legal job title was awarded in the Federal Republic of Germany (federal state: Hamburg).
The tax consultant profession is governed in the main by the following regulations:
a) Steuerberatungsgesetz (StBerG) [German Tax Advisory Act]
b) Durchführungsverordnungen zum Steuerberatungsgesetz (DVStB) [Regulations for the implementation of the German Tax Advisory Act]
c) Berufsordnung (BOStB) [German Tax Consultants’ Code of Conduct]
d) Steuerberatergebührenordnung (StBGebV) [Schedule of fees for German Tax Consultants]

The aforementioned regulations pertaining to the tax consultant profession can be perused at the competent Hamburg Chamber of Tax Consultants or at the Federal Chamber of Tax Consultants. Competent supervisory authority: Steuerberaterkammer Hamburg – Körperschaft des öffentlichen Rechts [Hamburg Chamber of Tax Consultants – Corporation under Public Law]
